What is USDT0?
USDT0 is Tether's official cross-chain version of USDT. Instead of wrapped tokens or liquidity pools, it uses LayerZero's OFT standard: USDT is locked on Ethereum or burned on other chains, and the same amount is released on the destination.
USDT0 and USDT
On Ethereum, classic USDT is locked in the USDT0 adapter. On chains such as Arbitrum and Optimism, the official USDT is the USDT0 contract itself, whose on-chain symbol is USD₮0. It is fully backed by the USDT locked on Ethereum and redeemable 1:1; many wallets simply display it as USDT.
What you receive on each chain
- Ethereum: Classic USDT
- Arbitrum: USD₮0 (Tether's official USDT on this chain)
- Optimism: USD₮0 (Tether's official USDT on this chain)
How a USDT0 transfer works
Your wallet calls the USDT0 contract on the source chain and pays a small LayerZero messaging fee in the native coin. Several independent verifiers (DVNs) confirm the message, then LayerZero's executor releases the USDT on the destination chain. Nothing needs to be claimed.
Fees and timing
USDT0 currently takes no token fee, so the amount sent arrives in full. The LayerZero messaging fee is paid in ETH and was measured at about $0.001–0.04. Deliveries take roughly 15–35 minutes. Stablane adds no fee.
Frequently asked questions
Is USD₮0 real USDT?
Yes. USD₮0 is the symbol of Tether's official USDT on chains served by USDT0. It is backed 1:1 by USDT locked on Ethereum and can be moved back at any time.
How is USDT0 different from bridged USDT (USDT.e, USDT on third-party bridges)?
Third-party bridges issue their own wrapped tokens. USDT0 is run by Tether's ecosystem, so on supported chains it is the official USDT, not a wrapped copy.
Which chains support USDT0 on Stablane?
Ethereum, Arbitrum and Optimism. USDT0 also runs on other networks that Stablane does not cover yet.
Does Stablane charge for USDT0 transfers?
No. You pay only the LayerZero messaging fee and source-chain gas.
Is there a USDT0 testnet?
No. USDT0 runs on mainnet only, so Stablane offers USDT bridging on mainnet only.
